The firm recently presented a customized program for the Department of Veteran Affairs in Salisbury, North Carolina.
According to Mullahy & Associates President Catherine Mullahy, RN, BS, CRRN, CCM, the program was based on its, “Best in Class Case Management – Veterans Health Administration Edition” and tailored specifically to address the homeless veteran population.
“The goal of our program is to educate participants regarding “Best in Class” practices and case management systems, and further, to facilitate professional teamwork and optimum care management,” said Mullahy.
Forty-five members of the VA, Salisbury, NC staff, including social workers, nurses, substance abuse counselors and case managers, attended the program which was held at the American Red Cross office in Salisbury, NC. Their feedback indicated the program was very well-received.
Among the comments received on the program’s evaluation form were: “This presentation provided me with a solid foundation of understanding the role of case management.” “Will use the techniques to guide our program,” “Presentation was excellent in presenting alternative ways to look at various situations and introduced additional things to consider while doing case
management.” “I have not worked in the official capacity as a case manager, so this in-service was needed. The education was directly related to the practice of social work.” “All sections flowed together built on veterans and focus on quality of care.” “It would be difficult to improve this comprehensive, passionate presentation.” “This is a very thorough and well-organized
presentation on CM that would be a good addition to the PACT trainings for primary care teams.”
