Very dynamic training.
I think all public health nurses in IHS should receive this training along with discharge planners, social workers, doctors, etc.
I finally got the answers to my questions… Speakers radiated a true passion for patient advocacy which I appreciated…
Staff nursing, executive level, staff, area staff and providers all need to understand what this process is and the integration of such in our organizations… Very knowledgeable presenters… engaging, experienced.
This gave me a solid foundation to build upon to improve a patient’s continuity of care.
Ms. Mullahy has extensive knowledge of IHS and tribal health systems.
Great program! Great Value!
In all my 12 years at IHS, this is the very best training session I have ever attended! Thank you for an excellent professional presentation!…
The tools in assessing each medical challenge to improve care were excellent. This class is so great for individuals who are new in case management.
The presentation has motivated me to become a CCM certified and has helped me realize what an important role CMs will be playing in the future of health care outcomes.
It has been an honor to have these excellent speakers. They are well spoken with an abundance of knowledge of the topic discussed. Excellent Day! Excellent collaborative exercises!
Enjoyed this! I have worked in private hospitals, the VA for 21 years, in the ER and have been a case manager in Primary Care, worked in home health. This in-service brought it all together. How case management can work in each field across services! Thanks for this awesome program!
This should be a mandatory course for the new PACT Care Managers/Coordinators. Seems to be perfect introductory course. It alerts you on what you are going to expect as a CM.
Excellent training. Speakers very knowledgeable about topic.
Would highly recommend seminar to others. Instructors are articulate, knowledgeable, well organized and well prepared. Handouts and slides excellent.
Enthusiastic, energizing! Fantastic environment for learning, sharing, building collegiality. Excellent package—-great baseline to begin a comprehensive and networking case management PACT! Thank you for the tremendous effort and flexibility in making sure our needs are met at DORN VA.
Repeat this course for all RNs; it is worthy and cost effective.
Thoroughly outstanding program! This program will affect my practice tremendously starting today! I have learned so much practical knowledge that I will apply to some intensely complex cases I currently manage, and I am so excited about feeling empowered to lead a team based on greater depth of understanding of fully assessing our veterans clients needs!
Case studies were awesome to review; all of it was helpful.
I would consider Cathy Mullahy to have her finger on the pulse of the country’s case management field and healthcare system. She understands what the needs are and how case management can be applied to meet those needs. She will design a customized program, which imparts her best practices and provides the tools case managers need for their particular practice setting.
Hello folks! Just wanted to let you know I passed the exam on the first try! I am a clinical social worker at the VA which does not require us too often to have to be apprised of Managed Care and everything that goes along with case managing clients who can get most of their needs met through the VA. I read the text cover to cover, read the online CMBOK start to finish, studied the glossary and took the practice exam a few times. Of course I took the workshop too! Long story short, this proved to be the formula for passing the exam on the first try for me!
As the Executive Director of the New York City Chapter of the CMSA and Board Member of the CMSA’s Pennsylvania Chapter, I worked directly with Cathy in setting up a customized program for our members during Case Management Week. Her program was dynamic and uplifting and held the attention of everyone present. She is an intelligent, informed presenter who is always looking to see what is happening…or should be happening next in the field of case management. I have no doubt she will be successful in her new mission at Mullahy & Associates to advance a new model in consumer-driven healthcare. Moreover, she is a staunch advocate for case managers, always motivating them and sharing with then her passion, enthusiasm and commitment to quality case management. Cathy is without question one of healthcare’s brightest voices.
Enormous amount of information. Therefore, great learning session.
Breakout Sessions, case studies, communication scenarios helped put things in perspective.
Great reiteration of effective communication and health payment plans.
Insurance info very interesting.
Loved hearing all of your expertise. Great to know it’s the same thing no matter what hospital or what state.
This should be a mandatory course for the new PACT Care Managers/Coordinators. Seems to be perfect introductory course. It alerts you on what you are going to expect as a CM.
The Workshop was well done, interesting and with a good variety in methods of presentation.
Physicians, pharmacists, staff nurses, home care staff, etc., should all attend this training.
This was a great step in obtaining certification! The Case Manager’s Handbook
I wish I had recorded this Workshop! It was full of so many sound principles I want to remember them all!
Thank you for all of the valuable tips and forms!
The need for case management in IHS is apparent…it is time to make this happen. Thank you for your expertise in this area..trust your work will continue with IHS in the future…
All hospital heads, CEOs need this, as well as MDs, to see the importance of case managers … so we can implement this.
This course was awesome! It allowed me to work at my own pace and provided me with a lot of new information along with a great review of older info. It helped me fulfill my requirements for both my CCMC renewal and for my RN license renewal. Thank you for this outstanding course.
Excellent. I feel that understanding how to detail patients individually is important. This speaker gave multiple examples to show how you could navigate difficult cases by understanding the patient as a whole.
My entire team would benefit from the presentation and the information received from this presentation and the information received. I now have a lot of new information and insight to share with them.
I gained a wealth of knowledge. I regained energy and a boost/passion for my profession.
I will be tutoring CMs for their CCM exam and the information in The Best in Class Case Management: An Introduction to a Leading Edge Practice Seminar will help me to focus on CM objectives and also redirect my staff in the CM role.
The Best in Class Case Management: An Introduction to a Leading Edge Practice Seminar will improve my work as a CM, decrease cost…will help me prepare for my CCM certification.
Catherine and Jeanne were effective, engaging, and collegial. As a social worker, I am especially appreciative of the advocacy for all of us in case management to work as a team and draw on each other’s skills and strengths.
I am glad I attended the seminar. Well worth the expense.
Totally awesome conference! An honor to learn from such distinguished experts in the field! Look forward to more conferences and greater learning!
Case Studies and group discussions—The group scenarios that we worked on were engaging and thought provoking. They required us to think individually as well as to work together as a team…the scenarios were excellent! Applied information that was presented.
The Best in Class Case Management Focused CE Series is a well-organized online course that has increased my understanding about case management. The course comes with a quick turnaround time when communicating to the instructor and truly speaks about the realities of case management. Also, the course comes with excellent modules and presentations that are easy to follow, even for the busy working adult student. For me, this course has been very instrumental, profitable, and an excellent investment that I made in myself.
I just completed the Best in Class Case Management Focused CE Series, and am so happy I took the course. As a certified case manager, the class reminded me how important the job that I do and it gave me a renewed joy and appreciation of my specialized talents and gifts. I would truly recommend for new nurses who want to understand case management or who are wanting to get certified. It is a comprehensive study of all aspects of case management with questions to make you understand the what and how. Do not let this opportunity pass you by – highly recommended.
I really enjoyed the course and how it tied real-life concepts to basic case management principles. You can tell that all the speakers had not only real-world experience, but a great understanding of the theory behind case management. This will help how I approach the patients and their needs in all realms of their life.
Thanks to the expert instructors and their insight on Case Management, I was able to complete this course. I enjoyed their in-depth knowledge and validation that I am on the right track. Plus, I found the case studies to be helpful, showcasing real situations I come across. I enjoyed this course very much.
The course really helped me understand the complexities and information that the case manager has to know and think about as well as the many different types of people and scenarios they may face. It helped me understand and appreciate the case managers I work with currently.
I wanted to thank you for your program. I learned a lot. I am so familiar with your voice from the videos so when I read your book, it was like you’d read to me your experiences as published. I found it amusing and, consequently, my attention reinforced. The combination of answering the test questions and reading the text along through the program really helped me to conceptualize more difficult topics; for me that was the psychosocial aspects domain. I knew the UR stuff, Insurance coverage and benefits; but the psychosocial aspects threw me for a loop. I’m more black and white, analytical, UR, Compliance minded. Your program really helped me conceptualize our case management duties, responsibilities, and above all, accountabilities. I took this process seriously including your program. Thanks for being a great teacher, case manager, person. I look forward to perhaps one day shaking your hand. You’re a true Godsend.
The Best in Class Case Management: An Introduction to a Leading Edge Practice Seminar will add to my knowledge; been a CM currently for 14 months. It has encouraged me to study for the certification and expanded my knowledge of the scope and role of essential CM activities.
Excellent experience of common scenarios by both presenters and attendees…I also liked the flexibility of the environment allowing the freedom to ask questions…
Great job with the presentation. This presentation has given me the basis and foundation of information to adhere and to increase my collaboration efforts for the veterans for whom I serve. I thank you for giving me clear definitions of many different aspects of case management.
Excellent program. Reinforced importance of evaluating behavioral health along with primary care concerns. As a pharmacist following patients with disease state management, these concerns are many ties not addressed and may be partly reason for noncompliance. Loved the poly pharmacy.
I am a Senior Social Worker at the Atlanta VAMC and work in a Primary (PACT) Care Clinic. I attended a Case Managers workshop with other VA staff in Birmingham, AL. It was facilitated by Mullahy and Associates. Attending the workshop/training confirmed my desire to obtain my CCM. I took the exam this morning and passed although of course my official notice of exam status has not been received yet. My only study guide was your book on Case Management and the guide from the CCMC. Awesome!! I just had to share that with you.
Very good presentation and very useful to me as an RN Coordinator! Need this presentation to all RN Coordinators and at least once a year.
Excellent. This was the best course I have taken thus far. Excellent speakers. Please invite them back.
This presentation has helped me to assess my need to manage well, organize a case load and interview applicants.
Provided excellent information about relevant issues for CM managers.
This presentation was outstanding…the information was clear and the examples provided will guide me as I use them in my facility.
In my experience, Catherine Mullahy is the expert; exceptional and dedicated as well as efficient and effective. I was exceedingly impressed, and the staffs were most appreciative, that she took personal interest to understand their unique practice in the service to the 115,000 vulnerable Native Americans in South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska and Iowa. During my nine years in the Aberdeen area, Ms. Mullahy is the single case management trainer to take this approach and it resulted in training designed specifically for these staffs’ case management needs. Ms. Mullahy formulated the curriculums in sound case management practice and principles, as well as offering workable solutions to undeniable health care barriers in the staffs’ practice settings. One case manager improved clinical outcomes by 30% in one year and saved the facility $175,000.
I think all case management supervisors, managers and even directors should take this course…
I appreciate the forms and tools offered during this awesome Workshop!
This presentation was a great start to my ownership and management of a Direct to Consumer Practice.
Very enjoyable and informative! I highly recommend this Workshop!
The presentation exceeded my expectations. In fact, I was inspired to pursue what I learned these two days to become certified in case management…
I am extremely glad I was presented this opportunity to attend this conference. It was eye opening and educational. Catherine and Jeanne were very informative. They presented information in a way that was relaxing. They were approachable and they put us at ease.
As a Social Worker, I felt this touched on a variety of areas and topics used in my profession. Very diverse. I very much enjoyed this conference. It was entertaining, kept me focused and tuned in—-all very interesting to me. Great speakers, real life examples, very helpful. So inspiring to learn from experienced individuals.
